The International Helenic University (Serres Campus – Erasmus identification code: G SERRES01) welcomes all foreign students who wish to participate to Erasmus+ Programme by fulfilling a part of their studies and/or a traineeship in IHU, Serres, Greece.

The Erasmus+ Program aims to support actions in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport for the period 2014-2020. Erasmus+ encourages individual mobility, transnational partnerships and alliances to foster cooperation between organisations and institutions and to stimulate knowledge and innovation in the field of education, training and youth. The new action of sport will support grassroots projects and cross-border challenges such as combating match-fixing, doping, violence and racism.

The International Helenic University (Serres Campus) accepts only exchange students from partner Universities with which there is a signed bilateral agreement. (Partner Universities )

Students who have been selected by their home Institution to study at the International Helenic University (Serres Campus) as LLP/Erasmus exchange students have to be nominated by their home universities indicating the department of IHU for their studies. Nomination letters have to be sent to Public Relations Office by e-mail: eu@teicm.gr not later than 1st July for the autumn semester and 30th of November for the spring semester.

Application procedure

Students who have been nominated by their home University should send us by e-mail (eu@teicm.gr) the following documents:

  • Application Form
  • Learning Agreement
  • Transcript of records provided by their home University
  • Proof of English language (minimum: B2 level)
  • Copy of student’s ID/passport.
  • European Health Insurance Card (for EU students) / Private Health Insurance (for non EU students – translated in English or Greek)

Application Deadlines
Autumn semester: June 30
Spring Semester: November 30

After you apply

After your application is received by the Public Relations Office, you will receive an email confirming the receipt of your application and its completeness.

Your application will then be passed on to the programme coordinator of your desired subject, who will then examine the learning agreement and make a decision about your admission to the programme.

If you are admitted by your desired faculty, the Public Relations Office will send you an acceptance letter and the signed learning agreement.

Registration procedure

Upon arrival all incoming students have first to register at the Public Relations Office. After that, they can be enrolled at the School they have been accepted.

The School’s Secretariat will provide students with a Student Academic Identification Card which gives right of access to libraries, sport facilities and gives reduction in the fares of all means of transport.

Insurance

Students from EU/EEA countries are required to possess the European Health Insurance Card.

Students coming from non EU countries must make arrangements for private health insurance prior to their journey, which must cover medical treatment and hospitalization for the entire study period. The health insurance contract must be in English; if the insurance company does not issue the contract in English, the students must have it officially translated into English or Greek.

Accommodation

If you wish to stay at a double room (two beds) at Serres Campus students’ dormitory premises, please mention it in your application form. We offer the accommodation to the Erasmus students free of charge!

On the other hand, you can look for an appartment in the city of Serres, about 5 minutes away from Serres Campus by public transport.

Campus food facilities

All incoming students can have three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner ) at the Institution’s restaurant, free of charge.

Academic calendar

The academic calendar provides a framework for the educational programme and
determines the pattern of campus life. There are two semesters each lasting 13 weeks.

Contracts are as a rule allocated and must be accepted for full semesters.

Winter semester

Courses: 01/10/2018 – 21/12/2018
14/01/2019 – 18/01/2019
Winter term Exams: 21/01/2019 – 08/02/2019

Spring semester

Courses: 11/2/2019 – 24/ 5/ 2019
Spring term Exams: 3/6/2019 – 21/6/2019
